One dead in Powhatan County crash in Virginia

Virginia State Police today identified the man killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday in Powhatan County at state Route 711, Huguenot Trail, and state Route 721, Woolridge Road.Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar said Ledge A. Schmidhammer, 58, of the 3000 block of French Hill Road in Powhatan, died at the scene of the 5 p.m. crash.Molnar said Schmidhammer's vehicle ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree.
