40-year-old man was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by helicopter Monday after an accident on Route 50 in Annapolis, said Capt. Russ Davies, a county fire department spokesman.

The man had serious but not life-threatening injuries, Davies said. The accident occurred in the eastbound lane of Route 50 near Solomons Island Road and the Rommel Harley-Davidson Annapolis dealership. The call for the crash came in just before 6 p.m., Davies said.

The accident involved the motorcycle and another vehicle, according to State Police. The crash closed all but one lane eastbound, then all lanes on both sides of the highway were shut down for 15 minutes so the helicopter could land, officials said.

The lanes were reopened by 6:40 p.m., the officials said.
