Bethel , ME : 25-year-old man was killed after hit a snowbank and then crashed into a utility pole on Saturday , January 24th 2015

The victim of a weekend car crash in western Maine has been identified as a Massachusetts man.

The Oxford County Sheriff's Department says 25-year-old Mickael Jette, of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, died in the crash at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in Bethel.

Police say the vehicle went out of control, hit a snowbank and then crashed into a utility pole.

Jette, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash knocked out power to the area for a short time.

The death remains under investigation.
