Tallahassee, FL : A Pace man was killed in an early morning crash on Thursday, June 22, 2017

A Pace man was killed in an early morning crash Thursday.

Christopher Eric Bailey, 46, was walking on the outside lane of eastbound State Road 291 near Campus Drive in Escambia County at about 5 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jeffrey Joe Heddy, 36, of Pensacola was driving a GMC Yukon in the same direction as Bailey was walking.

According to FHP, Heddy did not see the pedestrian and struck him.

Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene.

The FHP news release states possible charges are pending further investigation.
