ROCKFORD, IL : 23-year-old driver killed in crash in the 3800 block of 11th Street on Wednesday, 18th December, 2019

A crash about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 3800 block of 11th Street killed the driver of a car that collided with the rear of a semitrailer.

Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz said 23-year-old Miguel Tejada Jr. of Davis Junction was driving the car northbound when it collided with the rear of the northbound semitrailer.

The driver of the semi truck, a 57-year-old man, was not injured and remained on the scene.

Eleventh Street northbound from Airport Drive to eastbound Illinois 20 was closed for several hours as police investigated.
