Bridgeport, CT : Bridgeport man dead after hit and run crash on Arlington Street on Saturday evening, June 25, 2016

An elderly Bridgeport man died early Sunday morning after he was struck by car on Arlington Street Saturday evening during a hit and run accident.

Gasper Esteves, 81, was in front of his 202-204 Arlington Street homes and outside of his parked 2003 Ford Ranger at about 9:13 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by a white SUV traveling west on Arlington Street, near the intersection of Madison Terrace, police said.

The striking vehicle did not stop and is being sought by Bridgeport police.

Esteves was transported to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was listed in critical condition with multiple injuries, including a skull fracture. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead Sunday at 1:45 a.m.
