Myrtle Beach, SC : Cartersville pair die in out-of-state car crash on U.S. Route 501 near Aynor early Thursday evening, July 7, 2016

Two residents from Cartersville died early Thursday evening after their van collided with a tree in a small South Carolina town.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden identified the pair as Richard Chapman, 25, and Danielle Lemmerman, 26, both of Cartersville.

The crash occurred around 6 p.m. Thursday, July 7 on U.S. Route 501 near Aynor, South Carolina – about 30 miles west of Myrtle Beach – said

A 2004 Ford van was traveling southbound on the highway, Collins said, when the motorist “ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.”

The driver and the passenger were killed in the collision, and seven other victims were transported for treatment at an area hospital.
