Brooklyn, NY : Driver killed when car strikes tractor trailer on Wednesday June 25th 2014

A 22-year-old driver was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway.

Police say Leroy Samuel, of Brooklyn, was driving a 2003 Infiniti eastbound on the BQE Wednesday when he attempted to exit at Atlantic Avenue and struck the flatbed truck, which was waiting at a traffic light.

Police say Samuel suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say a 22-year-old female passenger in the Infiniti complained of back and neck pain and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
