The Latest on a serious collision in Phoenix
3:30 p.m.Phoenix police say four children were seriously hurt after the truck they were traveling in collided with another pickup whose driver appears to have been impaired.
Police say an eight-year-old boy who was traveling in the bed of the truck that was struck is in extremely critical condition and might not survive.
Two others who were also in the bed were injured, along with an infant about two-years-old who was in the front cab but was not in a child seat.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of 40th Street and Broadway Road.
Police closed off the Interstate 10 off-ramp at 40th Street while they investigated.
The driver of the pickup that crashed into the truck with the kids in it appears to have been impaired.
Phoenix police are investigating a serious crash that left several people, including a small child, in extremely critical condition.
The Sunday morning collision happened at the intersection of 40th Street and Broadway Road.
Police are still investigating and have closed down the Interstate 10 off-ramp at 40th street.
