Southbury, CT : Passenger injured after being thrown from a car in a rollover crash on Interstate 84 west in Southbury early Sunday morning, Nov 1, 2015

A woman who police said was not wearing a seat belt was ejected from an SUV that rolled over on Interstate 84 in Southbury early Sunday morning.

Karen Templeton, 51, of Kennebunk, Maine, was a passenger in her own GMC Yukon when the one-crash happened just after 3 a.m., according to the report.

She sustained serious injuries and was taken to Waterbury Hospital, where she was then airlifted to Hartford Hospital. Her condition was unclear Monday afternoon.

State Police said the driver — Craig Templeton, 57, of Wells, Maine — was traveling westbound on I-84 when the car left the roadway for an unknown reason, veered into the grass median and overturned across the roadway.

He was taken to Waterbury Hospital with minor injuries, police said.
