Fort Lauderdale, FL : Driver, 24, dies after crashing car into State Road 84 wall on Sunday, June 19, 2016

A 24-year-old man died Sunday after crashing his car into a barrier wall along State Road 84 in Davie, authorities said.

Fort Lauderdale resident Yvro Rijkaard Alexandre was driving north on Davie Road around 1 a.m. when he continued through the intersection with State Road 84, where Davie Road ends, and crashed his 2003 Infiniti sedan into the wall that borders the New River Greenway.

He died on the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
