Irmo, SC : One person killed, another one injured in fatal single car crash on Steeple Road in Irmo on Sunday morning, March 6, 2016

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed one person and sent another to the hospital.

Troopers say the single car crash happened around 4 a.m. Sunday morning on Steeple Road in Irmo.

According to SCHP, the driver disregarded a stop sign, went through an intersection, ran off the road and hit a tree.

Troopers say the driver was taken to the hospital, his condition is unknown. The passenger in the car was killed in the crash.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Deangelo Javion Vaquar Lewis of Irmo died at the scene.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
