THOMPSON, CT : Connecticut police seek hit-and-run driver on Sunday, December 4th, 2016
State police in Connecticut are looking for the driver of a vehicle that a struck a Rhode Island woman who had gotten out of her disabled car on Interstate 395.
Police say they found 32-year-old Meredith Shaw, of Scituate, lying on the side of the highway in Thompson at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday as they investigated the disabled car.
She was taken to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, with what were described as serious injuries.
The investigation indicates that a car entered the shoulder of the highway, struck the woman, and then left the scene.
Police say the vehicle may have passenger-side headlight and fender damage.
Witnesses are asked to call police.
