APOPKA, FL : One person was killed Saturday in a crash in Orange County on Saturday, September 23rd 2017

One person was killed Saturday in a crash in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.The crash happened before 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Apopka Vineland Road and Balboa Drive.

A Nissan driven by Ryan Sankar, 26, of Ocoee, was traveling south on Apopka Vineland Road when he lost control of the vehicle, troopers said.

The vehicle left the roadway, struck a pole and split in half. The passenger, Ronald Sankar, 28, of Orlando, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and a second passenger, Ricky Sankar, 20, of Orlando, were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
