Fremont County, CO : 78-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday July 3 2014.

A 78-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash in Fremont County early Thursday afternoon, Colorado State Patrol said.

Walter Giffin of Pueblo West was driving westbound on U.S. 50, about seven miles east of Canon City, when his 2007 Ford Ranger drifted to left side of the road and into the median, troopers said. Troopers said he over-corrected, causing the car to roll and come to rest on its driver's side.

Giffin was pronounced dead on scene, troopers said. State Patrol said neither alcohol nor speed is considered to be contributing factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
