Texes City, TX : 55-year-old Lumberton man injured after motorcycle struck two stopped cars in Texas City on Sunday morning, Nov 8, 2015

A 55-year-old Lumberton man was still in critical condition Monday evening after his motorcycle struck two stopped cars in Texas City, police said.
The motorcyclist was traveling north in the 2800 block of Highway 146 when he struck the cars Sunday morning around 11:30 a.m., police said. Both cars were stopped at a traffic light, where the highway intersects with FM 519, police said.
The collision caused the motorcyclist to be thrown into one of the cars, police said. He was transported by helicopter ambulance to John Sealy Hospital, police said.
The accident was still being investigated by the Texas City Police Department. Failure to control speed and driver inattentiveness appear to be contributing factors, police said. Neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be a factor, police said.
No charges have been filed.
