Hollywood, FL : Man killed and woman injured after car slams into Publix supermarket in Broward County on Monday, March 14, 2016

A man was killed and a woman was hurt before dawn Monday when the car they were in slammed into the back of a grocery store on Young Circle.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. at the shopping plaza where a Publix supermarket, Walgreens and other stores and businesses are located.

The driver, identified as 24-year-old David Paul-Lamour, of Miramar, died at the scene. Passenger Roxana Villa, 20, was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The red 2006 Cadillac STS was speeding westbound on Hollywood Boulevard when Paul-Lamour lost control and struck the median, police said. The Cadillac went airborne and crashed through a wall next to the loading dock in the rear of the Publix at 1735 E. Young Circle.
