A Fort Collins woman was booked into the Larimer County Jail on Friday in connection with a crash that killed a Denver woman near Berthoud in early January.

An investigation by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office CRASH Team that concluded Friday found that around 3:30 p.m. Jan. 9, a Kia SUV driven by Stacie Alcoser, 43, of Fort Collins entered the intersection of North Colo. 287 and West County Road 8 in Berthoud at or near 65 miles per hour while the traffic light was red.

Alcoser's vehicle struck a motorcycle driven by a 54-year-old Denver woman who died from her injuries after being transported to a local hospital, the sheriff's office said. Another adult female driver of a Toyota SUV was also transported and treated for serious injuries.

In addition to the two SUVs and the motorcycle, the crash also involved a Chevrolet pickup truck. The Kia struck the motorcycle and the Toyota, causing the Toyota to strike the pickup, according to the sheriff's office.

Drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors, investigators found.

Alcoser was booked on allegations of vehicular homicide, a Class 4 felony, and vehicular assault, a Class 5 felony with bond set at $10,000. Alcoser was released a short time later after posting bond.
