BURLINGTON, VT : Man hit by car on Route 7 near Burlington on Thursday, January 19th 2017

A man was hit by a car on busy Route 7 Friday at the Burlington-South Burlington city line.

Witnesses tell WCAX News the man was panhandling just before he was hit.

He reportedly crossed the street behind a bus and was hit by a car, smashing the window and landing on the left side of the road.

He was taken to the hospital.
