LIBERTY, MO : Woman injured in crash involving Philadelphia, Mo., man on Wednesday, March 28th 2017
A Philadelphia, Mo., man was involved in a Wednesday night crash in Clay County that injured a Lawson woman.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2012 Volvo semi-truck driven by Joseph S. Whetstone, 54, of Philadelphia, and a 2012 GMC driven by Gail M. Albers, 65, of Lawson, were traveling north in the right lane on the ramp from Interstate 435 to Interstate 35 at 5:48 p.m. The patrol said that when Albers stopped because of traffic congestion ahead, she was struck in the rear by the semi. After impact, the GMC traveled off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail.
Albers was taken by ambulance to Liberty Hospital in Liberty with minor injuries.
The patrol said both drivers were wearing seat belts.
