Chesterton, IN : Two motorists involved in a rear-end crash then killed in a 2 vehicle crash at Indiana State Road 49 On Sunday, May 15th, 2016
Both motorists involved in a rear-end crash on Ind. 49 on Sunday were cited, Chesterton Police said.
According to police, at 10:50 a.m. Nathan D. Rose, 28, of Wheatfield, Ind., was northbound on Ind. 49, south of 1100N, when he rear-ended a second vehicle stopped in traffic in the single open through-lane.
The driver of the second vehicle was Terese M. Jelinek, 21, of Winimac, Ind.
Both Rose and Jelinek were issued citations for no insurance, police said, while Rose was also issued a citation for following too closely.
Police estimated total damage to Rose’s 2005 Dodge Caravan and Jelinek’s 2012 Nissan Sentra at up to $2,500.
