Portland, ME : OOB woman dies in car accident on Commercial Street near Beach Street early Wednesday morning, October 12, 2016

An Old Orchard Beach woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Portland early Wednesday morning.

Portland police responded to a car accident at 1:45 a.m. on Commercial Street near Beach Street.

Rachel Schwartz, 30, drove a 2009 Honda Fit that struck a utility pole. Schwartz was alone in the car and died on the scene, according to Portland Police. No other vehicle was involved in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
