VANCOUVER, WA : Arrest made in fatal hit-and-run in Vancouver on Sunday, February 26th 2017

The Columbian reports ( http://bit.ly/2lKHVbl ) the Clark County Sheriff’s office said an attorney representing a 35-year-old woman contacted authorities on her behalf. Authorities say when she spoke with detectives, the woman admitted to being the driver of the 1988 Nissan Pathfinder that struck and killed 44-year-old Richard Waller of Vancouver Saturday night.

The woman was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.

Witnesses report the man was pushing a shopping car when he was struck by a vehicle that fled at a high rate of speed.

Detectives think alcohol use may have been a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said, and the investigation is ongoing.
