ANTIOCH, CA : Antioch man killed in Christmas Eve car crash at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Golden Bear Drive on Tuesday, 24th December, 2019

A 36-year-old man died Christmas Eve after his vehicle collided with a tree in Antioch, police said.

The crash was reported at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Golden Bear Drive about 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, Antioch police said in a news release early Wednesday. Officers arrived to find the man, a resident of Antioch, inside the vehicle suffering from critical injuries.

Medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police the vehicle was speeding and weaving through traffic prior to the collision.
