JESSUP, PA : Gouldsboro man dead in Jessup crash on February, Tuesday 27th 2018
One man is dead after a crash discovered early Tuesday in Jessup, the borough’s police chief said.
Thomas Wayne Helman Jr., 29, Gouldboro, is believed to have been ejected from his vehicle after driving off state Route 247 just south of the intersection with Marshwood Road, Chief Joseph Walsh said.
The crash was reported to police at 6:50 a.m. but it appeared Helman had been there for “awhile,” the chief said. It was not immediately clear who reported it.
Lackawanna County Chief Deputy Coroner Jesse Van Deusen pronounced Helman dead at the scene.
The vehicle left the road, struck several trees and rocks and rolled over an unknown amount of times.
