Crofton, MD : Two people injured after a Tandem bike crash in Crofton on Monday, February 20, 2017

Two people were taken to the hospital Monday with serious injuries after their tandem bicycle crashed with another cyclist in Crofton.

Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials said firefighters responded a crash involving two bicycles in the area of the 1500 block of Elwyn Avenue just before 2 p.m. on Monday.

A tandem bike ridden by a 69-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman crashed into another cyclist, a department spokesman said.

The two sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries and were transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment.

The single rider of the other bike was not injured, the department said.
