Conroe,TX : Names released for 3 fatal Montgomery County car crashes on December, Sunday 3rd 2017
The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the names of three people killed in separate crashes within 24 hours over the weekend.
Scarlett Hamm Conlon, 40, of Willis died at the scene of a three-vehicle crash around 9:32 p.m. Friday in the 21000 block of FM 1097 in Montgomery, according to DPS and Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack.
"(Conlon) was traveling westbound (on FM 1097) in a passenger car when (she) failed to maintain a single marked lane (on a curve) and crossed over the eastbound lane striking a glancing blow to eastbound Dodge Durango SUV," Mack said Saturday night. "The crash forced that SUV into the ditch and caused it to roll. Traveling eastbound behind the SUV was a large Ford pickup truck that struck the westbound car (driven by Conlon) in the eastbound lane head-on."
The pregnant driver of the SUV, April Noel Oneill, 37, of Willis, was taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center in stable condition.
Conlon's car struck a pick-up truck driven by Joe Dean Thompson of Montgomery, who had no injuries noted on the DPS accident report. Conlon was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, EMS and Montgomery County fire departments responded to the scene. An autopsy has been ordered for Conlon.
At 11:10 p.m. Friday, dispatchers reported they received multiple 911 calls for another fatal crash, which happened in Porter.
Student Melanie Jasmine Figueroa, 17, of Porter was driving eastbound at about 25 mph in the 18000 block of Iris Lane when her car "left the roadway and entered the ditch on the south side of the road," DPS stated.
Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Metts pronounced Figueroa dead at the scene of the single-car crash at 11:17 p.m.
Three EMS units and the Porter Fire Department reported two people in stable condition. According to DPS, Jimmy Rocha, 21, and Lionel Guillen, 19, were traveling in the car with Figueroa and were both transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.
Emergency crews responded to a third fatal crash at approximately 8:15 a.m. Saturday in Montgomery.
Around that time, a property owner noticed a truck in a creek bottom off of FM 2854 near Collier Cemetery Road. First responders discovered Hunter Gorski, 21, of Montgomery, dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash.
Gorski was traveling east on FM 2854 when he crossed the center line and left the roadway into the grass on the north side, according to the DPS accident report.
"(The truck) began to slide sideways momentarily, striking a mailbox before crossing a private driveway," the report stated. "(The truck) briefly returned to the roadway in the wrong lane of travel and went back into the grass on the north side of the roadway again before skidding sideways again and entering a deep creek bed and rolling on its roof where it came to rest."
