CLIFTON, NJ : 2 killed, 4 injured in 5-car crash on Garden State Parkway on Wednesday, 23rd December, 2020

A crash involving five vehicles on the Garden State Parkway in northern New Jersey left two people dead and four others injured, state police said.

The crash in Clifton occurred around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, when a southbound vehicle driven by Sandra Vanderslice, 59, of Philadelphia, overturned and went into the northbound lanes, said Sgt. Lawrence Peele, a state police spokesman. The vehicle then collided with four northbound vehicles.

A passenger in one of the northbound vehicles — Maxim Viscio, 29, of Jersey City — and Vanderslice were both killed, while the driver of the vehicle Viscio was riding in was seriously injured, Peele said. Three people in another vehicle had moderate injuries.
