Cincinnati, OH : 89-year-old man dies after a head-on crash in Hamilton County on Friday morning, February 20, 2015

An 89-year-old Hamilton man died over the weekend after a head-on crash, officials said.

Lloyd Downs passed away Sunday at the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to a report from the Hamilton County coroner.

Downs was driving a 1999 Cadillac on Fairgrove Avenue Friday morning when he crossed the center line and hit another car, according to police.

He was transported to the hospital by AirCare and died from his injuries Sunday.

The driver of the other vehicle, 29-year-old Dwight McVey of Monroe, received minor injuries. His passenger, 31-year-old Rema Daher, of Cincinnati also received minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton Police Department.
