A 3-year-old boy was killed on the southbound 110 Freeway in a two-vehicle crash that injured his 5-year-old brother and their mother, who also lost her seven-month-old fetus, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash occurred about 10 p.m. Monday at 76th Street, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Nanci Martinez, 25, of Los Angeles was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo that apparently had stopped for an unknown reason on the right shoulder of the freeway, the CHP reported.
