Harford County, MD : Man died following a single vehicle accident on Grafton Shop Road in Forest Hill on Tuesday, March 29, 2016
A Forest Hill man died following a single vehicle accident on Grafton Shop Road in Forest Hill Tuesday, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies assigned to the Sheriff's Office Northern Precinct responded to the 2000 block of Grafton Shop at 11:59 a.m., following a report of a serious motor vehicle accident, spokesperson Cristie Kahler said.
Monitored emergency dispatches from the Harford County 911 Center said the vehicle hit a tree and an occupant was trapped and experiencing "trauma arrest."
The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company also responded.
"Information gathered at the scene indicates the driver of a Chevrolet S10 was traveling west on Grafton Shop Road, when [he] lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree," Kahler wrote in an email.
The driver, identified as William Edmond Hruz, 75, who Kahler said was alone in the vehicle, was taken by a Bel Air fire company ambulance to University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical in Bel Air, where he died.
The Harford Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit is investigating the possibility of a medical emergency contributing to the crash, Kahler said.
The Office of the State Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, she added.
