HARVARD, MA : A three-vehicle crash on Route 2 on February, Sunday 4th 2018

A three-vehicle crash on Route 2 east at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday sent four people to area hospitals and halted traffic for miles in each direction.

The names of those injured were not immediately available, according to state police spokesman Trooper Paul Sullivan. Sullivan said that all four who were hospitalized suffered incapacitating injuries.

The crash involved a 2017 Audi A4 operated by a 35-year-old Waltham man; a 2016 Audi A7 driven by a 37-year-old man from Sudbury; and a 2013 Chevy Equinox operated by 30-year-old man from Woburn.

Sullivan said there were three people in the Equinox. Two were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted by emergency crews. All three were then transported from the scene by ambulance.

The 35-year-old Waltham man driving the Audi A4 was also transported to an area hospital. A passenger inside the Audi A4 and the driver of the Audi A7 were both uninjured.

The crash was cleared at around 5:35 p.m., according to Sullivan.
