TRAVERSE CITY, MI : Two drivers were injured in a head-on collision in Grand Traverse County on Wednesday, June 21, 2017
Two drivers were injured in a head-on collision in Grand Traverse County.
An 84-year-old Traverse City woman pulled out in front of a woman, 51 of Karlin, who was driving south on U.S. 31 South on Monday at 4 p.m., Grand Traverse County sheriff's Capt. Randy Fewless said.
The cars collided in a head-on crash near McRae Hill Road.
Each driver violated traffic laws, Fewless said. The Karlin woman was speeding as she passed another southbound car, and the Traverse City woman failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
"(There were) hazardous actions by both drivers ending up contributing to the accident," Fewless said.
Both drivers and a passenger in the Karlin woman's vehicle were transported to Munson Medical Center with significant but not life-threatening injuries.
Deputies are still investigating the crash.
