Harris County , TX : 51 - Years Old Woman was killed after crashing into tree in Champions Area on Tuesday , January 13th 2015

A fatal single-car accident has caused a road closure in northwest Harris County.

The wreck happened around 3 p.m. Tuesday at 16600 Champion Forest Drive and Domer Drive.

Authorities say a 51-year-old woman died in the accident.
The car was traveling at a high rate of speed, hit a curb and then crashed into a tree on a median, according to the Pct. 4 Constable's Office.

Officials say the woman swerved to avoid another vehicle.

The vehicle was so badly damaged that deputies could not tell how many people were inside at first.

Authorities say Champion Forest Drive will be closed in both directions for at least an hour.
