Schoharie, NY : Truck driver ticketed after I-88 rollover early Tuesday, October 18, 2016
A Massachusetts truck driver was ticketed on several charges after his rig rolled over on I-88 in the Schoharie area early Tuesday, State Police said.
At about 3:30 a.m. Robert K. Wilson, 57, of Belchertown was driving his tractor-trailer westbound in rainy conditions when he lost control of the truck, went through the median, across the eastbound lanes and landed on its side in a ditch, troopers said.
Eastbound lanes of traffic were closed for several hours while the truck until the truck was recovered.
Wilson was ticketed for failure to keep right, speed not reasonable and prudent, moving from lane unsafely, and failure to use designated lane. He was treated at Cobleskill Regional Hospital for minor injuries and released.
Westbound lanes of Interstate 88 were closed for several hours this morning after State Police responded to a tractor-trailer rollover accident.
An empty tanker truck crashed and rolled into a ditch out of traffic early Wednesday, State Police said. The cause of the one-vehicle accident is under investigation.
The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident happened around 3:30 a.m., and the roadway was completely reopened by 8 a.m.
