north of Odessa, TX : At least one person dead in crash on Pole Bridge Road on Friday, 12th July 2019

At least one person was killed after their vehicle struck a tree and was consumed by fire after leaving Pole Bridge Road about 8:50 p.m. Friday north of Odessa.

The accident occurred when the vehicle, apparently traveling east on Pole Bridge Road, left the roadway at the intersection with Acorn Drive and hit a tree in the front yard of a home at the intersection.

Firefighters arrived to find the vehicle completely consumed by fire.After firefighters were able to contain the blaze a tarp was placed over part of the wreckage, apparently covering at least one body.

Bystanders who gathered before firefighters arrived could only watch as the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and several small explosions sounded out of the wreckage.
