Mill Creek , WA : 17- Years old Brandon Doyle killed in One car Crash he lost control and veered off the roadway on Saturday, March 7th 2015

A teen killed in a one-car crash early Saturday in Mill Creek has been identified as a Lynnwood High school senior.

In a letter sent a letter to students and parents, Edmonds School District officials identified the deceased student as Brandon Doyle, 17, of Bothell and described him as "a friendly, respectful young man who was devoted to his academics."

Mill Creek police say the crash happened just after midnight Saturday in the 2700 block of Seattle Hill Road.

A preliminary investigation found that Doyle was driving an Acura Integra west at high speed when he lost control and veered off the roadway, crashing nearly head-on into a tree, police say.

Doyle was killed instantly by the impact. A friend of Doyle's, who was following behind him in another car, witnessed the crash and called 911.

Police say neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash.

The letter to Lynnwood High School parents said the girls' basketball team decided to postpone its Monday morning assembly out of respect for Doyle and his family. Instead, they will celebrate their state championship later in the week.

School officials said counselors would be available to meet with students if needed.
