Orange County, FL : one person dead and four others seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at Dean Road and River Pines Court on Wednesday evening, January 27, 2016

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead and four others seriously injured Wednesday evening.

It happened at 6:51 p.m. at Dean Road and River Pines Court.

According to troopers, Sadi Ernesto Castro-River, 65, was driving her vehicle north on Dean Road when she attempted to turn into a parking lot.

Troopers said Jake Miller, 18, was driving his BMW south on Dean Road when Castro-Rivera turned directly into his path.

Miller struck the right side of Castro-River's vehicle.

Castro-River and two of her passengers, Wanna Castro and Jorge Cruz, were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in serious condition. A third passenger in her car, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at Florida Hospital East.

Miller was taken to Florida Hospital East in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
