Plymouth County, IA : Kingsley woman’s death ruled accidental on Sunday, March 19th 2017
The death of Lisa Derby, 57, of Kingsley, was determined to be accidental by Plymouth County Medical Examiner Dr. Sheila Holcomb.
According to a Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office press release, the cause of Derby’s death was determined to be hypothermia.
Derby was reported missing to the Kingsley Police Department at approximately 10:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19 by her son, Josh Derby, after family and friends had failed to locate her since 5 p.m., Sunday.
Derby’s body was found the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 21, just north of Kingsley in a creek in the area of County Road C-66.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, the Plymouth County Medical Examiner and the Kingsley Police Department conducted the investigation concerning the circumstances surrounding the death.
Unless new information surfaces or is developed, the case is closed.
