TEXARKANA, TX : Part of Hwy. 67 dedicated to trooper killed while on duty on Thursday, 14th March 2024

A stretch of Highway 67 in Bowie County is dedicated to Texas State Trooper Howard Jordan who died in the line of duty.

DPS Regional Director Jeremy Sherrod says, “A highway is just a road until it bears the name of someone. Now, Highway 67 will now bear the name of Trooper Howard Jordan, and we couldn’t be more pleased.”

A dedication ceremony was held Thursday to honor Trooper Jordan, who was struck and killed by a vehicle while weighing a truck in 1981.
