Portland ,TN : 14- Years old girl killed and and woman charged after hit and run Crash on Tuesday night ,June 16 2015

Sumner County authorities have arrested a suspect in the connection with a hit-and-run death of a 14-year-old girl on Tuesday night.


Authorities have charged Amanda Colleen Hall, 42, of Portland, with reckless homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a death and driving on a revoked license.

Sumner County sheriff's officials said Hall struck Briana Lowe, a student at Portland East Middle, while she was walking back on Dobbins Pike from a nearby Dollar General Store.

Investigators are still trying to determine the possibility of alcohol in relation to the case.

Lowe was walking with a friend back from a store on Dobbins Pike when she was hit by a car from behind just before 9:30 p.m.

She had left a note for her mom saying, “If you're reading this, we walked to the dollar store.”
