Azusa, CA : One person kille, two injured in a crash involving a big rig and car near Azusa on Monday morning, January 18, 2016

A crash involving a big rig and a car on the eastbound 210 Freeway left one person dead and two people injured Monday morning.

The fatal collision took place on the freeway, just west of Vernon Avenue at 6:31 a.m. The California Highway Patrol didn’t have details yet on how the crash occurred.

CHP Officer Peter Bishop said the driver of the big rig died at a hospital. A passenger in the truck and the driver of the car were injured and taken to a hospital, he added.

The CHP shut down the car pool lane as well as No. 1 and 2 lanes for nearly an hour and a half.
