Camarillo, CA : Three people injured in a traffic accident on northbound Highway 101 in Camarillo on Sunday morning, May 22, 2016

Three people were transported to area hospitals Sunday morning following a traffic accident on northbound Highway 101 in Camarillo.

The California Highway Patrol reported that one person received major injuries in the two-vehicle accident, which was reported at about 6:30 a.m. just north of Las Posas Road.

The patient with major injuries and two others with minor injuries were transported to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura and St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, according a spokesperson from the Ventura County Fire Department.

The CHP reported that 100 feet of chain link fence and six posts were damaged in the accident.

Traffic lanes in the area were reopened just after 8 a.m.
