Orlando, FL : Witnesses say hit-and-run vehicle is marked Orlando police patrol car on April 28th 2014
The Orlando Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash that witnesses said involved an officer's marked patrol car.
According to authorities, a bicyclist was struck by a car at Narcoosee and Dowden roads around 7:30 a.m. Monday and the driver fled the scene. The victim was thrown from the bike and possibly suffered a dislocated shoulder, police said.
Witnesses at the scene described the suspect vehicle as a marked Orlando police patrol car, according to investigators.
Police said the crash is under investigation and it's possible the driver was unaware the bicyclist was struck. Investigators are checking patrol cars that may have been in the area at the time and whether there are any surveillance cameras nearby.
The victim was treated at a hospital and released.
