A 14-year-old North Brookfield boy has died from injuries he suffered during a utility vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in the woods off Brown Road.
A spokesman from District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.’s office said the boy was riding a utility vehicle, which is similar to an all-terrain vehicle, on a wooded trail around 4:40 p.m. when the vehicle hit a tree. The boy was badly injured. Another young man who was nearby when the crash occurred called 911 and attempted CPR, the spokesman said.
The injured boy was taken to UMass Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries. He died Thursday, according to officials.
The spokesman said the office does not release the names of juveniles involved in incidents.
