A Florida man died after a crash in Clarendon County on Monday morning.

Highway Patrol said Timothy Payne, 60, of St. Augustine, Fla., was driving a 1998 Chevrolet van south on MG Hemingway Road at about 11:45 a.m. when he crossed over Bill Davis Road. Payne then ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Highway Patrol said Payne sustained fatal injuries on scene and was entrapped in the vehicle.

The Clarendon County Coroner's Office said an autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
