McHenry, IL : 5 injured when Dodge Ram leaves roadway, crashes into Starbucks in McHenry on Thursday, 16th January, 2020
Five people were injured Thursday afternoon when a Dodge Ram crashed into a Starbucks coffee shop in the city of McHenry, police said.
According to a news release from the McHenry Police Department, officers were called to the Starbucks, 4305 W. Elm St., about 4:40 p.m.
Police said a “full-size” Ram traveling west on Elm left the roadway east of the intersection of Elm and Oak Drive. The vehicle continued west while off the roadway and crashed into the northeast corner of the Starbucks after striking a vehicle in the drive-thru, police said.
Five people were injured. Four were transported to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital, and one of the four was subsequently transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center. One patient was released on scene. The patient transported to Advocate Condell was reported to be in critical condition at the time of their transport. The other three patients were reported to be in fair condition, police said.
