Leesburg,FL : Leesburg man critically injured in crash that closed stretch of U.S. 441 on February, Wednesday 14th 2018
A 77-year-old Leesburg man critically injured in a Wednesday morning crash that closed southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 441 near the entrance of Rural King remained in the intensive care unit of an Ocala hospital late Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred just after 8 a.m. when a northbound 1998 Honda CRV, driven by Joseph Sheridan, 24, of Umatilla tried to turn into the store’s parking lot on the 1700 Block of U.S. 441. A black 2012 Harley-Davidson driven by Rodney Johnson, 77, of Leesburg struck the Honda on the passenger-side door. Johnson suffered multiple injuries that sent him to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery, according to the Leesburg Police Department.
Sheridan went to Leesburg Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, according to police reports.
The crash is under investigation and charges are pending, reports state.
