BRENTWOOD, CA : Motorcyclist injured in collision with SUV at Fairview Avenue and Central Boulevard on Thursday, 1st August 2019

The cause of a collision between a motorcycle and sport-utility vehicle that sent a 19-year-old resident to a hospital is under investigation, authorities said Thursday.

Around 4:45 p.m., police responded to reports of the collision at Fairview Avenue and Central Boulevard, Brentwood police Lt. Walter O’Grodnick said.

When officers arrived, they found a male motorcyclist down in the northbound lanes of Fairview at Central.

The male, who was conscious and alert, was able to speak with officers and was taken to Kaiser Medical Center in Antioch for treatment of minor injuries. His condition was not immediately available Thursday night.

The driver of the other vehicle, a Chevy Suburban, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. There were no signs of alcohol or other substances being contributing factors, O’Grodnick said.
