Newport News, VA : Suffolk man seriously injured in dirt bike crash on Monday, July 3, 2017

A Suffolk man was flown to the hospital Monday after being seriously injured in a dirt bike crash, according to police reports.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., emergency responders were called to the 5300 block of Indian Trail located in rural Suffolk after a person found a dirt-bike rider hurt. A 27-year-old went off the road, hit a culvert and was thrown from the dirt bike, police said. He was not wearing a helmet, police said.

Emergency responders treated the man at the scene. He was flown to Sentara Norfolk General suffering from serious injuries, police said.
